Decentralized Financing platform Aave on Tuesday said it was invoking new protocols to temporarily halt ETH borrowing just before the Merge happens. The De-Fi platform clarified that the protocols are put in effect to avoid huge borrowing of ETH and to maintain the platform from sudden risks due to Merge event. This protocol change comes after Aave community voted to stop loaning ETH in a process that happened between 30th August and 2nd September. Aave is a lending protocol and works on the free-market principle for lending cryptocurrencies.
