Animoca Brands, a digital property rights developer, on Friday announced that it had acquired WePlay Media which was the developer behind the Blockchain game MotoGP Championship Quest. The deal to buy WePlay Media comes soon after Animoca Brands announced a $110 million funding round led by Temasek on September 8. Animoca Brands said that the deal was done in a bid to increase user engagement in motorsport gaming. This deal is the latest in Animoca’s chain of acquisitions in the gaming industry and comes after the acquisition of Eden Games which developed the Gear.Club, a popular racing game.
