On Sunday, Bitcoin’s mining difficulty increased by 4.68%, reaching an all-time high, as the network’s hashrate increased. According to BTC.com data, the mining difficulty reading was 39.35 trillion at block height 774,144 in Sunday’s biweekly adjustment, up from 10.26% in the previous adjustment on Jan. 16. The most recent Bitcoin mining difficulty reading was nearly 48% higher than on January 21 of last year, when it was 26.64 trillion. The difficulty of Bitcoin mining, which determines how much computing power is required to verify blocks on the blockchain in exchange for Bitcoin rewards, changes every two weeks.
