BITFRONT, LINE’s cryptocurrency exchange based in the United States, announced its closure on Monday in order to focus on developing LINE’s blockchain ecosystem. BITFRONT claimed that the platform’s closure was unrelated to “certain exchanges that have been accused of misconduct.” The cryptocurrency exchange first debuted as BITBOX in Singapore in 2018, before rebranding as BITFRONT when it expanded to the United States in 2020. BITFRONT is run by LINE Corporation, a Tokyo-based internet company, and its blockchain subsidiary, LVC Corporation.
