BlackRock, the world’s largest exchange-traded fund issuer, has filed for a new metaverse product, two months after launching a digital-assets fund that has so far failed to pique the enthusiasm of investors. According to a Thursday filing, BlackRock Inc. intends to follow companies with exposure to the metaverse through the iShares Future Metaverse Tech and Communications ETF. The fund, which does not yet have fees or a ticker, could include companies with products or services related to virtual platforms, social media, gaming, digital assets, augmented reality, and other areas.
