Coinbase, a cryptocurrency exchange, has clarified its status in India after sending some emails to its customers on Sept. 9.
The emails were a follow-up to an earlier message on June 26, asking customers to withdraw their funds by Sept. 25, 2023.
The emails said that Coinbase was discontinuing all services to some accounts that did not meet its updated standards.
However, Coinbase has explained that the emails only applied to some Indian users who were using its exchange product in other countries, and some non-Indian users.
The exchange product has been inactive in India for many months, but Coinbase’s other products and services are still available and active in the country.
These include the Coinbase Wallet, which allows customers to send and receive cryptocurrencies, and the Coinbase Tech Hub, which is a development center for Coinbase’s technology.
Coinbase has assured its customers that their funds are secure and they can transfer them to other crypto wallets or services at any time.
