MoonPay, a cryptocurrency payments app, has been registered with the United Kingdom’s Financial Conduct Authority (FCA), indicating compliance with local money laundering regulations. The company, whichh provides a programming interface for procedures to identify customers and combat fraud, is listed on the FCA’s register as of December 9. It joins the ranks of crypto exchange Bitpanda, financial technology firm Revolut, and financial infrastructure provider Tullett Prebon in achieving a status that has seen many crypto companies fail. FCA officials told lawmakers on Wednesday that only 5% of applications received under a recent temporary registration regime for the crypto sector were up to date.
