Bitstamp, a European cryptocurrency exchange, has been granted permission to operate in Spain by the country’s central bank, adding to its growing list of European licences. Bitstamp can now provide virtual currency exchange services for fiat currency and electronic wallet custody services to Spanish users, according to an email sent by the exchange on Thursday. Bitstamp’s registration in Spain follows its approval in Italy in July. The exchange, which was founded in 2011, is also licenced to operate in Luxembourg and the Netherlands.
