According to Bloomberg, Binance has hired Noah Perlman, the former COO of fellow cryptocurrency exchange Gemini, as its new chief compliance officer (CCO). Perlman joined Binance in January after serving as COO of Gemini for two and a half years and as CCO for one year. Perlman’s appointment comes on the heels of Steven Christie’s appointment as senior vice president (SVP) of compliance last May. In September, Binance founder Changpeng “CZ” Zhao stated that the company planned to hire “a few hundred more compliance people.” Since a slew of warnings from central banks and regulators in 2021, the exchange has been eager to demonstrate its commitment to this area of its business.
