According to plans adopted by lawmakers at the National Assembly on Tuesday, crypto companies in France would have to seek permission from regulators to operate if they are not already registered with the country’s financial regulator by January 1, 2024. The plans provide more flexibility than the Senate’s proposal in December to set a deadline of October 2023 in order to prevent crypto companies from abusing new European Union rules known as the Markets in Crypto Assets (MiCA) regulation.
