During a speech at a think tank event on Tuesday, Indian Finance Minister Nirmala Sitharaman said that developing regulations for crypto assets is one of eight priorities for the country’s year-long G20 presidency, which begins next month. Sitharaman had previously stated that cryptocurrency would be on the agenda of India’s G20 presidency, but this is the first time she has stated that it will be one of the unfinalized “priorities.” She was delivering the keynote address at an annual event on the upcoming G20 Conference hosted by the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations (ICRIER).
