Nirmala Sitharaman, India’s Finance Minister, has urged all Group of 20 (G20) countries, as well as international organisations such as the International Monetary Fund and the Financial Stability Board, to work together to help regulate crypto assets. Sitharaman was speaking at the 14th Annual International G20 Conference, which was organised by the Indian Council for Research on International Economic Relations, a think tank. India will preside over the G20 from December 1, 2022 to November 30, 2023. She stated that regulating crypto assets is in the national interest because “you never know where the trail will lead you.” Is it drug funding, terror funding, or just playing the system, and so on?”
