The Internal Revenue Service of the United States has filed a court document seeking permission to enforce a summons for information against Kraken and its subsidiaries. On Thursday, the IRS filed a court petition to enforce its summons, just minutes after Kraken announced it would settle Securities and Exchange Commission charges that it offered unregistered securities through its staking-as-a-service programme. According to the IRS, the summons was first issued in 2021, but Kraken has yet to comply.
