According to Parler, Kanye West, the divisive entertainer and ardent supporter of former U.S. President Donald Trump has agreed in principle to purchase the right-wing social media platform. Ye, who is no stranger to Bitcoin and cryptocurrency, praised the technology during an appearance on The Joe Rogan Experience in October 2020. “The bitcoin guys have a view on what true liberation of America and humanity will look like,” he said. A photo of Ye wearing a “Satoshi Nakamoto” hat recently went viral on social media. The purchase of Parler comes after West’s Twitter and Instagram accounts were suspended earlier this month for what the platforms called “antisemitic comments.”
