The crypto unit of Japanese investment bank and brokerage Nomura announced on Tuesday that it has been granted an operating licence in Dubai, making it the latest conventional financial institution to enter the crypto industry this year.
Laser Digital, based in Switzerland with offices in Dubai and London, announced in a statement that it had gained a licence from Dubai’s Virtual Asset Regulatory Authority, allowing it to provide crypto-related broker-dealer, management, and investment services.
Laser announced that it would launch its trading and asset management business in the coming months, providing institutional clients with access to over-the-counter crypto trading and other financial products.
