Crypto banking startup Striga is the first to be granted a license under a new Estonian legal environment that was dramatically strengthened earlier this year. Striga was granted permission to operate on September 20, according to an Estonian financial intelligence unit (FIU), an anti-money laundering enforcer, in a statement issued on Wednesday. The company, which is part of the Bitcoin Lightning startup LastBit, is now registered under an anti-money laundering statute that intends to tighten the formerly open regulatory system for crypto enterprises.
