Matter Labs co-founder and CEO Alex Gluchowski has denied duplicating code from Polygon Zero after the zero-knowledge scaling startup accused Matter Labs of doing so without due acknowledgement.
On August 3, Polygon Zero issued a lengthy blog post claiming that Matter Labs had duplicated “performance-critical components” of their zero-knowledge technology known as “Plonky2.”
According to Polygon Zero, the code was discovered on Matter Labs’ freshly published proving system dubbed “Boojum,” without crediting the code’s original writers.According to the corporation, this behaviour is harmful to the developer ecosystem.
According to Gluchowski, the claims were unsubstantiated, deceptive, and unsatisfactory.
Gluchowski claims that every decision they took while developing zkSync was based on ethics and transparency.
