FOX Business has learned that Peter Marton, a top state regulator of crypto, will leave his position at the end of September.
Marton is the deputy superintendent of virtual currency at the New York State Department of Financial Services, the memo said.
The memo, which has not been made public, was obtained by FOX Business.
According to the memo, Marton will join the private sector after his departure. The memo was written by Adrienne Harris, the superintendent of the department.
