Revolut, a fintech startup based in the United Kingdom, has announced the suspension of its bitcoin services in the United States.
This decision, informed by the developing regulatory landscape and concerns surrounding the cryptocurrency business in the United States, is set to go into effect on September 2, 2023.
Customers in the United States will no longer be able to place buy orders for cryptocurrencies on the Revolut platform after this date. “Revolut is actively pursuing alternative means of providing access to crypto products, and we hope to offer crypto in the US again in the future,” a Revolut representative told Decrypt.
This modification will be followed by a more complete restriction beginning October 3, 2023.
