Mikhail Mishustin, Russian Prime Minister, on Tuesday instructed the Russian government to finalize details revolving around crypto regulations in the country by December 19, 2022. He specifically called on the Russian parliament, Duma, and other state officials to come to a consensus on the regulation and circulation of cryptocurrencies in the country. The prime minister also pushed for regulation on crypto mining and cross-border transactions in cryptocurrencies. This development comes just after the Bank of Russia agreed with the finance ministry to legalize crypto for cross-country payments and brings further confirmation that Russia is getting serious about the possibility of using cryptocurrencies for cross-border transactions.
