According to a press release issued on Monday, cryptocurrency brokerage Blockchain.com has been granted a major payment institution (MPI) licence by the Monetary Authority of Singapore (MAS).
The licence entitles it to offer regulated digital payment token (DPT) services to its global institutional and accredited investor clients.
Last year, MAS granted the company preliminary approval.
“Singapore represents a large, profitable trading hub for Blockchain.com,” according to the company’s news statement.
The country now acts as the east Asia headquarters for Blockchain.com.
