Pick n Pay, a South African grocery retailer, has begun to accept Bitcoin in all of its 1,628 stores. According to Cointelegraph, the decision was made following the completion of a three-month pilot testing period in 39 locations. According to Cointelegraph, customers will be able to make cryptocurrency-based payments in-store using smartphone apps or by scanning a QR code, with the South African rand’s conversion rate permitted. Customers will reportedly need to use a Bitcoin Lightning Wallet as well as the CryptoQR scanner application from CryptoConvert, which is related to the Bitcoin Lightning Wallet.
