According to a news statement issued on Tuesday, Strike, a Chicago-based bitcoin payment provider managed by crypto entrepreneur Jack Mallers, raised $80 million in a Series B fundraising round led by Ten31.Washington University in St. Louis, the University of Wyoming, and past investors were among those who took part. The additional funds will be used to improve Strike’s payment network for businesses and customers. Strike’s app is used by several large e-commerce companies, including Blackhawk, NCR, and Shopify (SHOP).
