Patrick McHenry, Chairman of the House Financial Services Committee (FSC), announced a markup of several bills, three of which are aimed at providing legal clarity for the digital asset ecosystem — cryptocurrencies, blockchain development, and stablecoin payments.
The House Financial Services Committee will meet on July 26 to consider H.R. 4763, the Financial Innovation and Technology for the Twenty-First Century Act, H.R. 4766, the Clarity for Payment Stablecoins Act of 2023, and H.R. 1747, the Blockchain Regulatory Certainty Act, among other bills.
McHenry introduced the markup on clarification for stablecoin payments, which intends to establish regulatory clarity for the issuing of stablecoins that are supposed to be used as a means of payment.
