The Financial Conduct Authority (FCA) of the United Kingdom is on the hunt for unregistered cryptocurrency automated teller machines (ATMs). The FCA and West Yorkshire Police’s cyber team have taken action against several sites in and around Leeds suspected of hosting illegally operated crypto ATMs. The FCA announced the news on February 14th, emphasising that no crypto ATM operators in the United Kingdom currency are registered with the FCA. According to the authority, all crypto exchange providers, including crypto ATM operators, must be registered with the FCA and follow UK money laundering regulations.
