Lee Byung-gul, the chief executive officer of South Korea’s failed cryptocurrency exchange V Global, will serve 25 years in prison after the Supreme Court of Korea upheld his conviction on Friday. According to local media, the court upheld an appeal court’s sentence on the CEO for operating a pyramid scheme that defrauded thousands of investors between 2020 and 2021. According to the Yonhap News Agency, the Supreme Court upheld the sentences of three other unnamed V Global executives on the same day, ranging from four to fourteen years in prison.
