In a discussion group on Monday, Vietnam Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh called for new rules to regulate the crypto sector. Chinh expressed his frustration that “virtual assets are not recognized, yet people continue to trade” them. According to the local newspaper VnExpress, he was discussing changes to the country’s anti-money-laundering law. Lawmakers have pressed the prime minister, the governor of the State Bank of Vietnam, the country’s central bank, and the minister of justice to clarify their positions on virtual assets and blockchain technology.
