Visa has been dabbling in cryptocurrency for a few years, but the sector-wide fallout known as the crypto winter has had little impact on the company, according to soon-to-be-ex-CEO Al Kelly at Tuesday’s Visa annual meeting. “The crypto space has certainly been in the news recently, with a number of high-profile failures,” Kelly told investors. “There have been no credit losses as a result of these failures. As we seek to invest in the payments ecosystem, we’ve made insignificant investments in crypto funds and companies.” However, Kelly predicts that crypto’s role in the Visa universe will expand.
