How to Join:

To become a member of Skylab, the process involves completing a form. It’s important to note that the Selection Committee extends invitations to only five individuals weekly, underscoring the value of patience.
Membership is Complimentary: At Skylab, growth transcends monetary value. Membership is granted free of charge, providing the opportunity to embark on a Web3 journey.

Cultivating SkyLab’s Organic Growth: Skylab is committed to nurturing its growth in a sustainable manner, affording the community the space to embrace new members. Presently, the goal is to onboard a maximum of five individuals each week.
Prioritizing Invitations: The strength of existing members is cherished, and the intent is to uphold the unique talent and culture of Skylab as the recruitment process evolves. While the SkyLab website is open for public applications, invitations from current members hold precedence.
Members are encouraged to extend invitations to individuals who align with Skylab’s Ten Principles and are Web3 builders.
Invitation Process
- Skylab members must fill out a nomination form explaining why a person would fit for Skylab.
- The community manager will host weekly Selection Committee calls (open to anyone) where they prioritize the queue & choose 5 new members.
- If no members are in the invitation queue, the Selection Committee will invite people from the public application queue.
New members are encouraged to introduce themselves during a weekly call. Once fully onboarded, they are bestowed with the esteemed “Onboarded” role.
Operational Dynamics:
Weekly Skylab Call: This is the weekly community call that is open to all Skylab members.
Hot Seat: This is a 30-minute session during the weekly Skylab call where the person on the “Hot Seat” can present & get feedback. The point is for builders to get valuable feedback by unlocking the knowledge & experience of community members.
It is a safe space for feedback where members are encouraged to stick to constructive feedback with good intent. Honesty and occasional tough love are cautiously encouraged in this safe container.
The builder gets roughly 10 minutes of presentation and 20 minutes of discussion time where they can present a deck or give a demo.
1:1 Networking Bot: Fostering Connections Every Week
Within the Skylab Discord, a designated channel allows members to opt in or out of the program where the bot randomly matches pairs from those who have opted in.
Private chat channels are created for each pair, replacing those from the previous week. If no communication occurs during the week, participants are automatically opted out but are welcome to opt in again at any time.
The bot also monitors successful interactions during the week and highlights instances of inactivity. It keeps track of each user’s engagement and participation.
