According to a new filing on Monday, top cryptocurrency exchange Binance intends to urge a judge to dismiss the Commodity Futures Trading Commission’s (CFTC) litigation against it.
In March, the CFTC filed a lawsuit against Binance, its founder Changpeng Zhao, and compliance officer Samuel Lim in a federal court in Illinois, saying that the exchange maintained a derivatives trading business in the United States and ordered its American workers to conceal their locations in order to avoid prohibitions.
The Securities and Exchange Commission (SEC) also sued Binance, requesting a temporary restraining order on all funds deposited at Binance.US – the company’s American division.
