Rome is known for many things, but the grandeur lies in the presence of the Colosseum. But soon, Rome will also be home to some of the brightest minds in the Ethereum ecosystem!
Are you intrigued? Well, read on to know more about the adventure.
The Ethereum Foundation has set its name in the history books of the crypto world, but it looks like the ETH community wants to leave a permanent footprint on the global map.
Introducing the 1st edition of ETHRome (6th-8th October 2023 at Città dell’ Altra Economia) & we are also proud to announce For Web3 Media as the official community partner for the hackathon.
ETHRome is going to be super special, not only because it’s the Genesis edition, but also the first ETH Hackathon that has been crafted “by builders, for builders”.
What is really interesting here and sets the differentiation tone with ETHRome is the focus on “Governance & Privacy” as the event’s theme.
The 2 hackathon tracks clearly back the above statement:
- Encryption Games
- DAOs & Dragons
The message to participating devs is super clear. Build, ship & crush coding lines with the above two in mind.
While the hackers can choose to code like pros on either of the options, the laser focus of building dApps on Ethereum is something truly unique with a laser focus on accelerating the Ethereum ecosystem.

What is an ETHRome Main Event without some Side action?
To keep the energy high and offer the hackers a choice to absorb knowledge from the brightest minds (trust us, there will be plenty). ETHRome will also have 2 confirmed side events:
- Urbe Talks #12 (Wed 4th Oct, Talent Garden Ostiense): This will be the 12th edition of urbe.eth monthly meetup with 4 speakers diving into varied topics
- Web3 Privacy Now Meetup (Thu 5th Oct, Villaggio Globale): Privacy Crusaders Unite to enhance digital Ethics in web3
Till now, ETHRome has confirmed 8 sponsors & 21 community partners. Covering all the other ETHGlobal and ETH individual hackathon events, For Web3 Media is equally excited to see the ETHRome journey unfold on its maiden voyage.
As they say, “When in Rome, do as the Romans do”, we say “When in Rome, Hack as the Hackers do”
