Atomic Wallet, a noncustodial crypto wallet, was hacked in June 2023, resulting in a loss of $100 million for thousands of users.
A group of wealthy crypto investors from Russia and the CIS countries have filed a class action lawsuit against the wallet provider, seeking compensation for their losses.
The legal action is led by two lawyers: Max Gutbrod, a former partner at Baker & McKenzie in Moscow, and Boris Feldman, a co-founder of Destra Legal, a Moscow-based legaltech firm.
They claim to represent about 50 clients who lost $12 million in total due to the hack.
According to crypto analytics firms such as Elliptic, the hack was carried out by Lazarus Group, a North Korean cybercrime group that has been linked to several other crypto thefts worth billions.
