Blockchain data revealed that someone hacked two million Binance Coin (BNB) tokens in two transactions, according to security experts at BlockSec and Paradigm. At current virtual currency pricing, that equates to around $568 million. According to BlockSec Chief Executive Officer Yajin Zhou, approximately $87 million was moved out of the Binance ecosystem, but the hacker was unable to steal the remaining money since the Binance Smart Chain was halted. Later, the blockchain was restarted. The remaining tokens are in the hacker’s wallet but have been frozen on the Binance network, according to Zhou. Binance’s Zhao previously stated on Twitter that the incident’s “effect estimate” was roughly $100 million. A representative for the Binance-backed BNB Chain revealed to Bloomberg news that at least $7 million in stolen assets had already been blocked.
