South Korean prosecutors are looking into Lee Sang-jun, the CEO of the holding company of local cryptocurrency exchange Bithumb, for alleged bribery in the listing of certain cryptocurrencies on the platform, according to the Seoul Southern District Prosecutors’ Office. Prosecutors from the Seoul Southern District raided Bithumb Holdings and Lee’s private residence earlier this month, according to a text message from the prosecutors’ office to Forkast on Monday. The office declined to provide additional information about the investigation, such as when the raid occurred and where Lee was located. The investigation adds to the growing list of charges against Bithumb executives.
