Deutsche Telekom will become one of 100 validators for Ethereum layer-2 scaling platform Polygon, offering staking and validation services for the network and Polygon’s Supernets solution. Deutsche Telekom is utilising its infrastructure as a validator for blockchain protocols to investigate new revenue streams and improve network security. Deutsche Telekom MMS, a consultancy and software development firm, will serve as a Polygon validator for its parent corporation. This is expected to safeguard Polygon’s proof-of-stake sidechain and Supernets chain, increasing the protocols’ security, governance, and decentralisation. The company will run a full node, generate blocks, participate in network consensus, and commit checkpoints to the Ethereum mainnet.
