Two DeFi platforms, Exactly and Harbor, were hit by separate attacks on August 18, as blockchain security firms DeDotFi and PeckShield revealed.
The attackers stole 4,323.6 Ether (ETH), worth about $7.3 million at the time, from Exactly Protocol, a crypto lending platform on the Optimism network.
They transferred 1,490 ETH through the Across Protocol and 2,832.92 ETH to the Ethereum network via Optimism Bridge.
The exploit involved a malicious market contract address that bypassed the permit check and executed a harmful deposit function on the DebtManager contract.
The protocol reported the incident to the police and hopes to negotiate with the attackers for the recovery of the funds.
Meanwhile, Harbor, an interchain stablecoin protocol, also suffered an attack that affected its stable-mint and various vaults holding stOSMO, LUNA.
The exact amount of losses is still unclear, and Harbor is working to track the funds and assess the damage.
