Gemini, the cryptocurrency exchange founded by Tyler and Cameron Winklevoss, has declared the Republic of Ireland as its new European headquarters. The statement came after a meeting between the cryptocurrency co-founders, Irish Prime Minister Leo Varadkar, and officials of the Industrial Development Agency (IDA), the entity in charge of international investment in Ireland. “We’re grateful for the support of the Irish government and the IDA as we embark on the next, exciting steps in our journey,” the Winklevoss brothers said in a statement obtained by Decrypt. Gemini CEO Tyler Winklevoss said on Twitter that yesterday’s conversations in Dublin focused on “the profound promise of crypto and the importance of common sense regulation to realise that promise.”
