MicroBT, a Bitcoin mining machine maker, showcased three new mining rigs today at the Bitcoin2023 conference in Miami, one of which is the most powerful currently on the market. One of the new models, the WhatsMiner M53S++, has a computing power of 320 terahash per second (TH/s) with an efficiency of 22 joules per terahash (J/T). It is more powerful than competitor Bitmain’s Antminer S19 XP Hydro, which can deliver up to 257 TH/s, but less efficient than the Bitmain model, which can run at 20.8 J/T, according to the company’s founder and CEO Zuoxing Yang. The other two variants were the M50S++, which was built for air cooling and had a processing power of 150 TH/s, and the M56S++, which was developed for immersion cooling and had a computing power of 230 TH/s.
