Sotheby’s completed the sale of many rare non-fungible tokens (NFTs) confiscated from the huge collection of insolvent crypto hedge fund Three Arrows Capital (3AC) on Friday, raking in $2,482,850 to reclaim part of the lost cash. In 2021, the auction house held a multi-part sale containing NFTs from the Grails collection, which was developed as part of 3AC’s asset portfolio. In July, the Singapore-based hedge firm declared bankruptcy. Teneo, 3AC’s liquidator, issued a notice in February describing its intention to sell a large number of NFTs valued in the millions.Sotheby’s describes the Grails collection’s contents as “some of the most significant digital artworks ever assembled.”
