Other than trade and payments, Nailwal was asked to name some actual at-scale “real life” use cases for blockchain. Nailwal said that he believes Web3 gaming will eventually become one of the biggest drivers of mass crypto adoption. “There are some top games launching in Web3 in the next 6-18 months and it would be very interesting to see if some of them are able to crack the crypto code,” Nailwal said. “It would be very interesting to see if some of them are able to crack the crypto code.Web3 games received about $2 billion in funding last year,” he added. He went on to praise Reddit and its NFT success, claiming that the social media behemoth “cracked the code” for NFT acceptance. Reddit, according to Nailwal, “is perhaps the only well-known Big Tech company that has cracked the NFT code and is able to drive a lot of engagement with Reddit NFTs.” NFTs were presented as “Collectible Avatars” on Polygon in July 2022 through free airdrops and early purchases of digital collectibles for up to $100. On the secondary market, the early NFTs sold for hundreds of dollars.
