The Premier League is teaming up with French fantasy sports platform Sorare to sell non-fungible tokens (NFTs), indicating that the sporting world is still embracing digital assets despite market volatility. Sorare said in a statement on Monday that the agreement grants it a four-year licence to sell digital sports cards of players from all 20 Premier League clubs. According to Sky News, the deal could be worth 30 million pounds ($37.13 million) per year. Sorare’s game cards are purchased and traded in the form of NFTs, a type of blockchain-based asset, with either cryptocurrency or traditional currency.
