According to wallet data from Arkham Intelligence, Robinhood (HOOD), a platform for investing and trading, owns more than $3 billion worth of bitcoin (BTC) in a single wallet that accumulated the tokens over several months.
This makes it the third-largest bitcoin holder, trailing behind only Binance and Bitfinex, two crypto exchanges that have single wallets with $6.4 billion and $4.3 billion in bitcoin respectively.
The wallet has been a source of curiosity and speculation among market observers, who wondered who the mysterious owner of such a large amount of bitcoin was.
Some guessed that it could be BlackRock, a financial giant that applied for a Bitcoin ETF earlier this year, or Gemini, a crypto exchange that moved its users’ holdings to a new wallet.
