The founder of FTX, a cryptocurrency exchange that collapsed, Sam Bankman-Fried, is seeking to be released from jail temporarily while he awaits trial, his lawyers said in a letter to the judge on Monday night.
He has been in custody since August, when his bond was revoked for allegedly trying to influence witnesses.
His appeal to reverse that decision was rejected on Sept. 12, and another appeal was denied on Sep. 21.
However, his lawyers said that the court did not rule out a future request from them, and that it was very hard for them to prepare for the trial without him.
