On Thursday, the United States and the United Kingdom imposed joint sanctions on seven members of the infamous Russian cybercrime group Trickbot. Though the United States has previously taken action against Russian cyber criminals, the Trickbot sanctions are the first of their kind for the United Kingdom. The Trickbot sanctions, according to a press release issued by the British government on Thursday, are part of “the first wave of a new coordinated action against international cyber crime.” Trickbot is a well-known Russian cybercrime organisation with ties to Russian intelligence services.
