An Ethereum PoW replay exploit was reported this week due to a sketchy third-party contract on the Ethereum blockchain, using the proof-of-work consensus algorithm. Around 200 weighted Ether (wETH) were transferred through the Omni bridge on Saturday by attackers using the Gnosis network.
On Thursday, the Merge event led to a switch to proof-of-stake (PoS) consensus mechanisms on the Ethereum network. On its first day of operation, Ethereum PoW users reported they had difficulty accessing the network’s servers. The Ethereum PoW developers immediately resolved the issue after being notified of the issues.
