A hacker who took control of the sanctioned crypto mixer Tornado Cash has given up control while also using the protocol to launder the digital tokens looted during the attack. According to Nansen, the exploiter stole 483,000 TORN coins and converted a major portion of the stockpile into Ether before laundering 472 of the latter — worth around $900,000 — through Tornado Cash. An attacker exploited a weakness about a week ago to seize control of Tornado Cash’s governance, which is generally exercised by a crypto community. On May 26, the attacker effectively relinquished that power.
