Mark Cuban, the billionaire tech investor and owner of the Dallas Mavericks, fell victim to a phishing scam that cost him about $870,000 in tokens.
He had not used his wallet for “months” and probably clicked on a malicious link that mimicked the MetaMask wallet app.
The hacker emptied his wallet of various tokens, including stablecoins pegged to the U.S. dollar, staked ETH (stETH), SuperRare (RARE) tokens, and some Ethereum Name Service (ENS) domains.
The on-chain detective @wazzcrypto was the first to notice the theft.
