The South Korean Ministry of Justice (MOJ) announced Thursday that it will implement a cryptocurrency tracking system by the first half of 2023 in order to combat money laundering and improve its ability to reclaim criminal proceeds. According to the ministry’s 2023 task report, the system will be used to monitor and investigate crypto transactions, as well as uncover the sources of illegal funds. In the second half of the year, the MOJ plans to develop its own crypto tracking and analysis system. The department has not revealed the name of the tracking system it is implementing.
